Today we visited Murray Park, the training ground of Glasgow Rangers FC which is located 30 minutes from Glasgow City. We arrived at Murray Park at 10am and we were greeted by our host and head of the Underage (Schoolboy) Academy, Greg Statt.
First he showed us around the Youth section of the building and told us an interesting fact that any player who hasn't played 25 games or more has to change in the Underage Dressing rooms until they have reached the 25 games! We also got a glimpse of the Rangers first team training, it was a fantastic experience to see how professional players train up close and to see the techniques that they use. After the tour of the facilities we went to the press area for a question and answers session with Greg Statt which was very enjoyable as he gave us his life story and how he got to were he is today. After Murray Park we departed for Broadwood Stadium for a gym and training Session.

Today was our first day of work experience in Glasgow. We went to Broadwood stadium where the facilities were out of this world! We met with David Hay, the co-ordinator of North Lanarkshire Erasmus, and he gave us a tour of the college sports facilities. After David's introduction, we observed Queen of the South training session. They are a professional club who play in the Scottish championship. We then visited the state of the art gym they had in North Lanarkshire and were inducted by Alister who is the assistant manager. Following lunch, we trained with the college under the management of Tod who is our supervisor. He was assisted by Alan, another professional Scottish coach. The coaching session went on for two hours and was very informative. We finished up at half four and returned to the hotel where we relaxed for the evening going to the swimming pool for recovery work after a tough first day.
